Generating the ranking of the best smartphones in technical terms

The ranking is generated based on the sum of points obtained by individual phones in previous DxOMark, AnTuTu and Geekbench rankings. For the first place in the ranking the phone receives 30 points for the second place 29 etc. The last 30 place gives 1 point. In the case of a ranking with less than 30 items, points are only awarded for existing items. For example, iPhone performance rankings have only 10 items and points are awarded according to the key: 30 points for first place, 29 points for second place and for last 10 place - 21 points.

About our ranking

On the Internet we can find many lists and rankings for smartphones. In principle, almost all are created either on the basis of one selected technical criterion (e.g. device's performance or quality of photos) or on the basis of a marketing criterion (e.g. volume of sales, number of page views on a particular website). There are also many smartphone rankings based on the author's subjective assessment.

Creating an objective ranking of the best smartphones in technical terms is not an easy task. To achieve this, we decided to review the four most popular and recognized technical rankings of smartphones in the world. These are such rankings as: AnTuTu, Geekbench, DxOMark and Selfie DxOMark. The first two present smartphones with the highest performance and the other two show smartphones with the best camera and separately with the best selfie (front camera). We consider a maximum of 30 phones from each ranking. Although both AnTuTu and Geekbench check the performance of smartphones, their results are slightly different. This is due to accepted test methods that are not identical. Howeever these two rankings show how strong and fast your mobile system is. Having the data from the four above-mentioned rankings, we can generate a list of the best smartphones in technical terms. This list is created based on the sum of points obtained by individual telephones in the above-mentioned partial rankings. For the first place in the partial ranking the phone receives 30 points for the second place 29 etc. For the last 30 place the phone receives 1 point.

The ranking created in this way shows the most interesting smartphones with the highest performance, which can also have an advanced main camera and a selfie camera.
